The hotel's location is excellent for exploring nearby villages and enjoying walks in the grounds. It is centrally located for visiting the Lakes, the west coast, and the Settle/Carlisle railway. Despite a few drawbacks with room refurbishment and hot water issues, the overall experience was positive with attentive service and a variety of dining options.

My room overlooked a back yard where re-fitting was taking place. It was small but very well equipped, albeit needing some refurbishment. Unfortunately, there was no hot water throughout my stay despite assurances of a fix after the first night.

The service staff were incredibly helpful, especially towards the bride & groom. The only downside was a somewhat lacking response to a spilled drink incident, but the chef's creations were commendable.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The suite room was fabulous - spacious, very quiet, and offered superb views, although the mattress was a bit too soft for my liking, affecting my sleep quality. The cleanliness was impeccable throughout the hotel, including the lounge, bar, and dining room. The food was top-notch with an excellent variety to choose from.

The location was stunning, overlooking the Fells by Gisburn, and the staff created an excellent atmosphere. I would happily return next year for the attention to detail and beautiful surrounding countryside.

The hotel was not particularly good value for money at £125, and I wouldn't stay again unless it was a special occasion like a wedding. The room was the only one available in the main house, but it was not serviced for the two days and breakfast wasn't provided the morning after.
